Trellis Desk 2.0 Preview Screencast

Hello Trellis Desk users,

We know a lot of you are eagerly awaiting Trellis Desk 2.0.  An alpha release is expected within the next 3 weeks.  We apologize for the prolonged development, however things are moving along steady (even if slightly slower than we had hoped).  The wait will be worth it.  In the meantime, check out this preview screencast.

I apologize for the quality.  It's the best Vimeo would do with a free account.  If you want to stream / download the original screencast, you can do so here (you'll need a fast internet connection for streaming, and the resolution / video size is pretty big).

Enjoy!

Very nice, am looking forward to seeing it in alpha (build). I guess trying to download it wasn't the best option, getting awful speeds.

Do you plan a optimized iphone Trellis Desk site? Prowl Integration for Push Notification to the Iphone would also be brilliant! thanks!

Thanks for the kind words! We are planning an optimized interface for Trellis Desk that will run in mobile web browsers.

I found your site just today, and Trellis Desk looks very nice! But as I work for a small company, and the internal help desk is, well...me, if you record more videos, I am actually more interested in what the *customer* sees. Will have more feedback as I play with 1.2.

Very cool. Fugue icons! The interface looks awesome, with nice use of Javascript throughout. The ticket mask looks good, and I'm glad to see there'll be more control over email notifications.

What about options for email notifications when a staff member replies to a ticket, whether it's a regular reply or staff only reply? This way you can see if someone in your department has already replied to the ticket or not, without having to log in.

Keep up the great work. I'm excited to try 2.0!

@Scott Nice idea, I hadn't thought of that. I'll add it into our Trac for TD2.

Not sure if others would find this useful, but one thing that I would find useful is a way to track time spent on tickets. For example, currently I track time spent in a staff only reply, which makes it a manual process to see when billing comes around later. It also makes it difficult for some clients who have a contract based on hours per month.

Is there any way of including extra fields that allow someone to include time start/stop on a per reply basis, and then add those up so a client can see a summary of time for themselves, as well as making billing a lot easier at the end of the month?

For clients that have a per problem contract, its not an issue really. But time tracking on problems would be a great addition to Trellis Desk.

I've only had a chance to skim through the video, maybe I missed it. But any work on Trellis 2.0 having Ldap support?

I'd be very interested in trying out the 2.0 alpha/beta. Is it available?
